About Me

Meet Ali Dixon, LPC, PMH-C

I believe we are all resilient - innately able to become happy and successful again after distressing events happen

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have spent my career striving to help women reach their full potential. I consider myself an active and engaged therapist. In working with me, you receive validation and warmth alongside concrete direction and tools for change. Many clients come to me when they are interested in getting past the surface to truly heal. I start by helping you implement skills that relieve distress and foster a balanced life. This foundation allows us to safely address underlying causes of distress and promote deeper healing. Through targeting the origin of your problems we can change behaviors and thought processes that are no longer serving you. Together, we work to develop an updated understanding of yourself, creating lasting change.

Maternal & Perinatal Mental Health

I am especially passionate about supporting women through the emotional, physical, and relational shifts that come with motherhood, and as a mom of two myself, I get it! I want to help you navigate each chapter and fully embrace every part of the journey. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. With my background in trauma and anxiety, I am uniquely fit to work with anxious mothers as well as mothers who have experienced trauma, whether related or unrelated to birth and delivery.  I am trained through Postpartum Support International (PSI) in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) and am certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). I also volunteer with the Georgia Chapter of PSI by training other professionals such as OB/GYNs and pediatricians on how to screen for and treat PMADs.  Additionally, I serve on the Georgia Perinatal Mental Health Taskforce.

 Anxiety & Trauma

During my career, I have engaged in extensive training and experience in the treatment of anxiety disorders and trauma within the private practice setting. I am passionate about helping people who have experienced difficult life events restore their balance, meaning, and joy. As a result of anxiety or trauma, many people arrive at a place of feeling stuck or overwhelmed. It is in these moments that we often ask ourselves, how did I get here and where do I go now? My aim is to help clients answer these questions by assisting them in creating a deeper awareness of whom they have been and whom they want to be going forward. I utilize evidence-based methods such as EMDR, CBT, and IFS.

Young Adulthood

Navigating life’s choices independently for the first time can be overwhelming. Do I date? Do I pursue a career? Do I move across the country? I can help you make sense of the pieces, find your purpose, and grow into the adult you want to be.
